Following reduced rainfall in Maharashtra districts, there was a slight decrease in water release from the neighbouring State. Also, there was a slight reduction in rainfall in North Karnataka districts on Thursday.

Water release from Maharashtra was 14,080 cusecs, measured at the inter-State border.

However, the average inflow at the Almatti dam remained steady at 80,000 cusecs due to the heavy rain last week. Outflow was maintained at 70,000 cusecs.

The dam has 68.4 tmcft of water storage, i.e., 55% of the full capacity of 123 tmcft.

The Raja Lakhamagouda reservoir over the Ghataprabha in Hidkal has 48.9 tmcft of water against the full level of 51 tmcft. Inflow was 9,766 cusecs and outflow 123 cusecs.
