President Donald Trump posted a series of cryptic messages suggesting the mounting conflict between Israel and Iran was only going to get worse.

The president left the G7 summit in Canada early to focus his attention on the escalating crisis, and late Monday he posted a message on Truth Social urging all of Tehran to evacuate “immediately.” A ceasefire between the two nations, he said, wasn’t on the table.

“What a shame, and waste of human life,” he wrote. “Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON.”

Trump’s rhetoric stoked fears of further U.S. involvement in the conflict, where past mistakes in the Middle East would be all too easy to repeat.

Meanwhile, shocking details have emerged about the shooting of two Minnesota state lawmakers and their spouses, crimes Gov. Tim Walz (D) said appeared to be “politically motivated.”
