Marcus Smith will begin the British and Irish Lions tour at full-back against Argentina on Friday evening as Maro Itoje captains a side featuring nine English starters.
Henry Pollock is on a replacements bench that also includes Tadhg Furlong, with the latter poised for a first appearance since Leinster’s defeat of Glasgow Warriors on May 17.
Elsewhere, Andy Farrell has opted for an imposing centre pairing of Bundee Aki and Sione Tuipulotu with Duhan van der Merwe and Tommy Freeman on either wing. Van der Merwe is another to have returned to fitness, having been absent for Edinburgh since the end of March.
Alex Mitchell and Fin Smith, the Northampton Saints half-back pairing, return to the scene of their victory over Leinster in the semi-final of the Investec Champions Cup last month.
Ellis Genge, Luke Cowan-Dickie and Finlay Bealham, the latter an injury call-up for Zander Fagerson, comprise the front row and Tadhg Beirne will combine in the engine room with Itoje.
