London has always been a city open to new ideas but that welcoming attitude has worn thin as an influx of e-bike companies has moved into the capital over recent years.
Those who are fed up of riders jumping red lights and badly parked e-bikes will despair, then, at the news that another “micromobility” giant is entering the already crowded London market.
Estonian-headquartered Bolt, which operates Europe’s largest scooter and e-bike fleet in Europe, will launch thousands of new e-bikes on to the streets of London from August, adding to the 50,000 e-bikes already available across London.

Bolt’s arrival follows the Swedish giant Voi’s launch in the capital this year. The two European firms join the London-based Forest, all of whom are competing with the undisputed king of the e-bike urban jungle in the capital, the San Francisco-based Lime. Electric Santander bikes — Boris bikes — are also available from docked parking.
