Municipal police had to intervene in the early hours of Tuesday to stop an 80-year-old man who was driving a car down Rome's Spanish Steps, one of the city's most famous landmarks.
The man went down a large section of the monumental stairway before being halted.
He was not injured and a breathalyzer test he did after the incident was negative.
