Fire crews have this morning been scrambled to a suspected gas explosion in London.
Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were called to Dumont Road in Stoke Newington, where homes cost an average of £1.4million, shortly before 5am.
Motorists and pedestrians have been warned to avoid the area for most of this morning while Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade (LFB) investigates the cause.
No details have been given as to whether anyone has been injured.
LFB station commander Darren McTernan said: 'Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area for most of this morning while investigations into the cause of this incident are carried out.
