Patients are angering NHS staff by secretly filming consultations on their phone and posting the videos on TikTok and Instagram.

The Society of Radiographers (SoR) is calling on health officials to introduce national guidelines that ban covert recording in hospitals and clinics.

It said intrusion is causing clinicians unnecessary anxiety when they are trying to work - and the shameless social media influencers risk publishing other patients' medical information.

The organisation also suggested that distracting staff and making them uncomfortable may compromise the quality of treatment.

The SoR wants clear and widespread NHS policies that prevent patients from photographing or filming clinical procedures without permission.
