Blast happened as presenter was berating Israel during live broadcast, Iran media reported, sharing video in which explosions could be seen
Iran state television resumed live coverage after an Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) building on Monday cut live coverage.
“The Zionist regime the enemy of the Iranian nation minutes ago conducted a military operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran news network”, part of IRIB, said a senior official at the broadcasting service Hassan Abedini.
The blast happened as the presenter was live on television lambasting Israel before she was seen leaving the broadcast, Iranian media reported, sharing a video of the incident in which loud explosions could be seen and heard.
The attack was a “wicked act” and a “war crime”, said Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei.
