Gucci owner Kering on Monday appointed former Renault boss Luca de Meo as CEO.

The board of directors of Kering, chaired by François-Henri Pinault, approved the appointment of the 58-year-old Milan-born manager as CEO of the luxury group after he left the French car group on Sunday.

As part of a renewed governance structure, the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, held by Pinault, will be separated from that of CEO.

These changes will come into effect with the decision of the Board of Directors to be held after the convocation of the shareholders' meeting, scheduled for September 9, 2025.

Luca de Meo will take office on September 15, 2025.
