Hatred of Reform Judaism has long characterized both Haredi Judaism and segments of Israeli religious Zionism. But now it's coming from the secularists too
During a debate on the issue of putting on tefillin in schools this week, Knesset Member, Reform rabbi, and lawyer Gilad Kariv was removed from a discussion in the subcommittee by Knesset Member Galit Distel Atbaryan. Rabbi Kariv suggested adding a paragraph clarifying that both male and female students be able to put on tefillin. Atbaryan claimed this was a "provocation," likening females wrapping tefillin to holding a bar mitzvah for a dog.
