Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) clarified that the State leadership will take the final call on alliances for the upcoming local body elections, asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party will contest under the Mahayuti coalition.

“Our state president, working president, and election committee have the sole authority to decide on alliances. No one else. Our stance is clear — we will fight under Mahayuti. In places where an alliance isn’t feasible, there may be friendly contests,” Mr. Fadnavis said.
