Six new council houses which were damaged when a teenager ploughed into them with a stolen JCB dumper truck are set to be demolished.
The 16-year-old, who can't be named due to his age, caused thousands of pounds of damage after going on an 'utterly mindless' rampage at the Hurworth Moor estate on Neasham Road in Darlington in April.
The newly-constructed housing block was left looking like a demolition site, as the vehicle left gaping holes in the walls, windows and doors.
Structural engineers have now told the council six of the seven homes he hit were damaged beyond repair and need to be pulled down but will be rebuilt.
Police launched an investigation after footage was posted to TikTok showing the homes with their walls destroyed and bricks strewn across the building site.
