The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday took suo motu cognisance of the media reports on the alleged derogatory remarks made by journalist V.V.R. Krishnam Raju on the Amaravati women during debate aired on the Sakshi TV.
“Referring to Amaravati as a capital of prostitutes is an outrageous insult to women farmers there. Such comments are unacceptable,” the NCW said.
