The Chennai North District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered ACTC Events to pay ₹50,000 as compensation for the mismanagement of A.R. Rahman’s Marakkuma Nenjam concert held in the capital city in September 2023.

In his petition filed by K.R. Arjun, he claimed that ACTC Events, Big Tree Entertainment and Mr. Rahman adopted negligent and unfair practices for the event, which was originally to be held on August 12, 2023, but was later postponed to September 10, 2023. He alleged that the event management company had failed miserably in organising the event, causing hardships to customers. He had also purchased a ‘diamond category’ ticket, which guaranteed a parking space at the venue. However, this wasn’t the case and, hence, he had to miss the event.
