Order comes after Trump deploys National Guard troops in move decried by California’s governor as unlawful.
In an alert, the Chinese consulate in Los Angeles has noted that law enforcement actions were “ongoing in many places in the Los Angeles area”.
“The Consulate General in Los Angeles reminds Chinese citizens in the Los Angeles area to pay close attention to official announcements and media reports,” it said.
It called on citizens to “remain vigilant, enhance safety precautions, stay away from gatherings, crowded places or areas with poor public security, and avoid traveling at night or alone”.
Trump announced the measure last week, saying it was needed to prevent the importation of “terrorists” into the US. Rights groups have decried the policy as discriminatory.
