1. Warner Bros. Discovery

will separate into two public companies by the middle of next year: a streaming and studios company, led by CEO David Zaslav, and a global networks business run by current CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels. The networks company — which will include Warner’s entertainment, sports and news channels like CNN and Discovery — will hold a 20% stake in the streaming unit. Shares jumped 9% on the news.

2. Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which starts today, is a pivotal event for one of the portfolio’s most beleaguered stocks. Expectations are low, but like I was encouraged by the bounce in Apple
