Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has survived politically only through publicity. He claimed that Modi’s government failed to fulfill the promises made to the people.

On June 9, when asked by mediapersons in Mysuru to comment on the Modi government completing 11 years in power, Mr. Siddaramaiah said, “I give zero marks to the government headed by Mr. Modi.”

While asking who benefited from the demonetisation, Mr. Siddaramaiah recalled the Prime Minister’s promise of ‘Acche Din’ and the creation of two crore jobs every year. “He promised to solve the problems of farmers, but farmers had to protest for an entire year. The Modi government has completed 11 years in power without making any significant achievement. They have just completed 11 years, that’s all.”

Mr. Siddaramaiah regretted the excessive publicity given to Mr. Modi, and the latter’s government was using the same to promote false claims.

“When our government announced the guarantee schemes, they said they cannot be implemented, and the government of Karnataka will go bankrupt. But they copied the same schemes,” he said alleging that the BJP has promised similar schemes in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi.
