The IDF has yet to release the names of two additional soldiers killed in the incident. It was later confirmed that the building collapsed due to the detonation of an explosive device
Four Israeli soldiers, including 33-year-old Sergeant Major (res.) Chen Gross and 19-year-old Staff Sergeant Yoav Raver were killed early Friday morning in a building collapse in Khan Yunis.
Both soldiers were in the IDF's special forces, with Gross serving in the elite Maglan reconnaissance unit and Raver serving in the elite engineering unit, Yahalom.
The IDF has yet to release the names of two other soldiers killed in the incident, as well as that of a reserve officer who was severely wounded.
The IDF later confirmed that the building collapsed as a result of an explosive device detonation. Search and rescue teams from the IDF's Home Front Command were dispatched to retrieve those trapped.
