At midday on April 29, the eve of Memorial Day, a message inviting the masses to take part in an urgent demonstration was disseminated via social media, under the heading: "We won't allow the supporters of terrorism to meet in Ra'anana." The recipients were urged to go that evening to a synagogue in the affluent city in central Israel, where there was to be a screening of the annual, alternative memorial ceremony held by the Forum of Israeli-Palestinian Bereaved Families. Or, as the message phrased it, "a joint memorial event for the Nukhba terrorists and IDF soldiers as if they are equals."
