The major Wall Street indexes are sitting on modest gains this week with one trading session to go.
Stock market futures rose early Friday ahead of a key jobs report that is expected to shed light on the health of the U.S. economy.
S&P 500 futures
added 0.35%. Futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average
also climbed 0.35%, or 149 points, while Nasdaq 100 futures
rose 0.33%.
July's payrolls report will be out on Friday morning, and traders will be watching the numbers.
The moves come after the major averages bounced back Friday from sizable losses suffered earlier in the week.
More than 90 S&P 500 companies are slated to report quarterly results this week.
Investors are looking ahead to the January jobs report, due Wednesday morning. The results could be a key catalyst for the market.
