A newborn baby girl died after a nurse allegedly dragged her out of bed while her parents went home to take a quick shower.

Ellieana J. Peyton was born on March 4 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and was placed in the NICU because she had cardiomyopathy - a cardiovascular disease, according to a GoFundMe page.

Because she was born with the left side of her heart being a bit smaller than it should be, Ellieana was monitored around the clock.

Her mother and father, Mackenzie and Tyler Peyton, were elated to hear that their little girl would soon get to go home with them on May 28 - but just three days before everything changed.

'The hospital nurse put the cords hooked to my daughter in her pocket and forgot she had the cords in her pocket and dragged my daughter out of bed when she went to go leave,' Mackenzie wrote on Facebook.
