On Tuesday’s broadcast of “TODAY with Jenna & Friends,” the Oscar winner and her partner, singer-songwriter Van Hunt, joined host Jenna Bush Hager as guests — marking their first on-air interview together as a couple.
With flowers in hand, Hunt joined Berry to gush about their relationship, though he admitted to TODAY.com that he’s ready to take their love to the next level.
“So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold, as you can see,” Hunt told the outlet. “It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”
But Berry explained her reluctance to wed in the interview, grounded in a past where not every happily-ever-after went according to script.
