Birmingham bin workers have voted to continue industrial action in a dispute over pay and jobs, Unite have announced.
The ballot, which resulted in 97 percent of workers voting in favour of strike action on a 75 percent turnout, means strike action could last until December.
Refuse workers from the Unite union have been striking since March over Birmingham City Council's proposed changes to roles and resulting pay cuts.
Unite claim that under the council's plans, the pay rate of drivers will reduce from £40,000 to £32,000, a pay cut of £8,000.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: 'After smearing these workers in public since January and telling them to accept a fair and reasonable offer that never existed, the council finally put a proposal in writing last week.
