Neil Young just extended President Donald Trump quite the olive branch.
In a pointed message posted Monday to his website, the rock icon invited the president to attend one of his concerts and show people they can “come together and stand for American values.”
Young’s invitation wasn’t free of criticism, however.
“Our country and our way of life, that which our fathers and theirs fought for, is now threatened by our government,” the “Ohio” artist wrote. “This is not what we voted for. This is our new reality.
“Our government is out of control, not standing for us. You can stand up for American values this summer, for our children and theirs.”
