A senior Metropolitan Police officer has been sacked for a second time after refusing to take a drugs test when accused of smoking cannabis.
Commander Julian Bennett, who wrote the Met's official drugs strategy, was dismissed after a disciplinary panel found his refusal to provide a urine sample in July 2020 amounted to gross misconduct.
However, this dismissal was later overturned by the Police Appeals Tribunal (PAT) in October 2023.
Before a fresh hearing was called in September 2024, which for the second time found Bennett guilty of gross misconduct.
Bennett, who joined the force in 1976 and rose to one of its most senior ranks, had been suspended on full pay, between £120,000-£135,000, since 2021.
