A teenage petty criminal became a vicious killer just months into a sentence at a prison that has been branded the most woke in the UK.
Ashirie Smith, 19, murdered convicted sex offender Mahir Abdulrahman, 31, by brutally stamping on his head and neck inside his cell at HMP Fosse Way in Leicestershire on August 20 last year.
He was just four months into a three-year term, at what has been dubbed Britain's cushiest jail, for a lesser firearms offence - yet after being able to carry out the lethal attack he has now been landed with a life sentence.
Abdulrahman was killed in his cell the day before he was due for release.
The category C prison has been mocked by critics for resembling student halls, with inmates also given their own personal computers that double up as TVs.
