Now that Elon Musk is exiting the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), many people on social media had a message for the manchild mogul: Don’t let the door slam on you when you leave.
On Wednesday, Musk thanked President Donald Trump on X “for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.”
He added: “The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
Musk initially promised that DOGE would cut $2 trillion from the $7 trillion federal budget. However, only a measly $150 billion in fraud was found and that amount is still unverified.
Pesky little details like that made his goodbye note a ripe target for internet snark.
