Pope Leo XIV visited the papal summer residence near at Castel Gandolfo on Thursday, Vatican Press Office Director Matteo Bruni said.

Bruni said the American pontiff went to Castel Gandolfo to pay a visit to the offices of the Borgo Laudato Si environmental education project and, while he was there, he went to the Papal Palace.

Leo's predecessor Pope Francis did not use the summer residence and it was turned into museum in 2016.
