ITA Airways will remain independent from Lufthansa, the German airline that controls it, ITA Managing Director Joerg Eberhart said Wednesday.

"ITA must be independent, it has a different corporate culture than Lufthansa, it has its own strengths such as flexibility, versatility, creativity while the Germans are less creative, they have a different mentality.

Let's leave ITA as it is, as we did with Swiss", Eberhart said at the Fit-Cisl trade union congress underway in Santa Margherita di Pula.
