The Right looks at opinion polls while the centre -eft wins at real elections, centre-left Democratic Party (PD) leader said after the centre left won or came out ahead in the provincial capitals of Genoa, Ravenna, Matera and Taranto as well as taking other towns like Assisi in a local election election on Sunday and Monday.

"After a beautiful campaign among the people, two extraordinary victories in the first round in Genoa and Ravenna, with Silvia Salis and Alessandro Barattoni, to whom we send our embrace and best wishes for a job well done," she said.

"With the PD that grows by 8 points compared to the last elections and is the first party.

"We also win in Assisi with Valter Stoppini and the results in Taranto are excellent, where we will go to the run-off with a clear advantage.

"It is now clear, the centre right is exulting for the opinion polls, while we win the elections".
