Marks and Spencers will open 12 new spacious UK stores with large car parks and bakeries as part of its major expansion plan.
More than 550 jobs are set to be created in what has been described as a 'significant step forward' in the retailer's store rotation and renewal project.
The news comes after the High Street giant was hit by a crippling cyber attack last month that left customers facing empty shelves and caused a suspension of online orders.
Despite the setback, the chain's ambitions have continued unabated with M&S saying it plans to open ten Food stores and two full line stores, and that a number of other stores will also receive a makeover.
Among the locations of choice for the new shops are Abingdon, Farnham and Northampton.
