Two teenagers have died after the motorcycle they were riding on crashed into a car.

The boys, aged 16 and 17, collided with a Vauxhall Viva at around 8.20pm yesterday in Salford, police said.

They had been trying to turn down a road near River View Primary School when they smashed into the vehicle.

This prompted a huge emergency services incident, with the driver of the Vauxhall - a 24-year-old woman, stopping to help.

The teenagers were taken by ambulance to hospital, where medics were unable to save them.
