As mother-of-two Beth Martin was wheeled into a hospital in Turkey a day after arriving for a getaway, the last thing her family could have imagined was that she would never leave it alive.

On Sunday April 27, the Portsmouth 28-year-old set off on a trip with husband Luke and their two young children Elouise, eight and Tommy, five.

But she began to feel ill on the flight, complaining of an upset stomach, and her symptoms only worsened when they touched down in the holiday hotspot.

By Monday morning, she was 'delirious', and following a scramble for an ambulance she was handed over to doctors, 'pinned down, poked, prodded invasively,' according to Robert Hammond, a family friend. By Tuesday night, she was dead.

Ms Martin's family has been plunged into hell by the sudden tragedy. They have weathered huge medical bills, baseless police accusations, the indignity of her body being returned without her heart - and no answers as to why she died so suddenly.
