More than 250 celebrities and influencers, including Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff and actor Pedro Pascal, signed a statement that ran as a full-page ad in The New York Times on Wednesday in support of Planned Parenthood.
The statement, which can be viewed on the nonprofit’s website, was endorsed by a range of popular figures across generations, from singer Stevie Nicks and actor George Lopez to British pop star Harry Styles and the outspoken indie singer Clairo, whom Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) opened for at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The public figures’ names appeared under the words “I’m For Planned Parenthood,” along with several statements in support of the reproductive health care organization.
“Because I’m for freedom. Americans are losing more of our freedom to decide how we live our own lives,” read one line.
“Because I’m for you and me — not the government — deciding what care we need and where we can go to get it,” read another.
