Motorist escapes after cop pulls him over by splitting his car in HALF

This is the bizarre moment a motorist managed to escape cops after his car split in half during a police chase in Russia last month.

Footage filmed in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan shows the car pulling over as a police officer runs up toward the orange vehicle.

But as the cop yanks open the door to interrogate the driver, the car splits in half, allowing the motorist to speed away.

The second half of the car remains on the road as the police officer desperately tries to chase after the fugitive driver.

The car was modified to split upon the push of a button, according to local media.
