Kid Rock used a disturbingly violent phrase in a rant about “wokeness” to hail President Donald Trump during an interview on Fox News Digital.
Trump had “slit the throat of DEI and wokeness,” the pro-MAGA musician told Fox News Digital during his “Rock N Rodeo” event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday, while praising the Trump White House’s ongoing attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion programs and measures.
“I think wokeness and DEI and cancel culture is starting to exit the building, and we can thank President Trump for leading that charge once again,” said Kid, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie.
“I call him the dragon slayer in that regard, because he just came and slit the throat of DEI and wokeness,” he added.
The singer acknowledged “there’s always gonna be cancel culture at some level, somebody getting butt sore about this, wants to protest and not buy a product or whatever” but said that, “personally, I’m not into seeing people lose their jobs over some corporate decision that was made.”
