A woman who knifed her partner and left him to die on their bed before telling the police he had killed himself has been jailed 16 years.

Joanna Wronska, 52, from Pentre Gwyn in Caia Park, Wrexham, stabbed and killed her partner Marcin Koziol in a 'cruel and violent attack' on October, 23, 2023, before telling police he had inflicted the injuries on himself.

Wronska went to great lengths to cover her crime and police discovered a clean knife in the kitchen sink and traces of blood on the taps.

Despite maintaining her innocence through the trial, a a jury took less than 90 minutes to convict her following a nine-day trial at Mold Crown Court after a pathologist questioned how Mr Koziol could have stabbed himself with such force.

It is believed in a drunken temper, Wronska took the knife and stabbed her partner.
