The Iran ambassador has been summoned to the Foreign Office after three Iranian nationals were charged with spying, the Government has said.
Mostafa Sepahvand, 39, of St John's Wood, Farhad Javadi Manesh, 44 of Kensal Rise and Shapoor Qalehali Khani Noori, 55, of Ealing, were arrested on May 3 under the National Security Act.
The trio are alleged to have been helping the Middle Eastern country's intelligence service between August 14 2024 and February 16 2025.
Now, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has said Iran 'must be held accountable for its actions'.
A spokesman added: 'Today, upon instruction from the Foreign Secretary, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Kingdom was summoned to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
