A 16-year-old boy has died after being stabbed on a beach in Ayrshire, Scotland.

The teenager, named locally as Kayden Moy from East Kilbride, was found by police with serious injuries on Irvine Beach on Saturday evening at 6.45pm

Police Scotland say the boy was rushed to hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds, but sadly passed away on Sunday morning.

His family have been made aware and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Friends of the family paid tribute to Kayden on social media and called for a crackdown on youngsters carrying knives.
