Furious resident have hit out at a 200ft Chinese supermarket warehouse towering over their homes as they claim the building becomes bigger every time they leave their homes.

Dubbing it a 'giant fridge', locals in Nechells, Birmingham, have aired their grievances about a Wing Wip warehouse - the UKs biggest Chinese supermarket chain - as the wake up everyday to see the 213ft 'eyesore'.

Residents claim construction of the cold storage unit, which will be 285ft high and 114ft long, has made their lives hell and fear once completed it will block sunlight and devalue their homes.

They also allege there was no consultation process organised with residents about the building's height, raising concerns about possible traffic chaos and noise pollution in the area.

Father-of-three Imran Shaban said while the Wing Yip supermarket had been here his 'entire life', he added: 'But now they have thrown up this massive thing.'
