Istat said Friday that Italy's annual inflation rate was 1.9% in April, the same as in March.
The national statistics agency had put the inflation rate for April at 2% in its initial estimate at the end of last month.
It said its consumer price index was up by 0.1% in month-on-month terms.
Istat said that core inflation (excluding energy and unprocessed food) was up 2.1% (up from +1.7% in March) and inflation excluding energy was +2.2% (up from +1.8% in the previous month).
Istat's shopping trolley index of the prices of food and household and personal care goods accelerated, rising from 2.1% to 2.6%.
