The Canvey Island cab firm owner now known as the 'king' of Britain's migrant hotels has become a billionaire after his profits jumped by 60 per cent from housing asylum seekers who arrive in the UK.

Graham King, 57, is now estimated to be worth a staggering £1.015billion - up from £750million in a year - thanks to his asylum empire providing accommodation, food and transport for migrants.

His firm Clearsprings Ready Homes rakes in £4.8million of taxpayers' cash every day. The business is paid by the Home Office to provide short-term accommodation in hotels for asylum seekers and has an incredible £1.7billion annual turnover.

He is now among The Sunday Times Rich List's newest billionaires - thanks to a £265million increase in his personal fortune in just 12 months.

The former caravan park and disco owner, who grew up in Canvey Island, Essex, has been arguably the biggest beneficiary of Britain's migration boom, fuelled in part by the small boats crisis.
