The government will send 13,500 police to boost security in local areas around Italy, Premier Giorgia Meloni said at question time in the House Wednesday.
"I am happy to announce that the government has ordered the dispatch of over 13,500 units including carabinieri, police officers and financial police to increase security in the territories, to which are added about 3,000 firefighters," she said.
"We will help those who help us, we will protect those who protect us and we will defend those who defend us, because that is what a fair and normal State does".
