The Milan prosecutors' office's anti-terrorism pool is investigating reports that suspected Russian drones flew five times over the last month over a high-tech research centre at Ispra, a province of Varese town on Lake Maggiore, ANSA judicial sources said on Sunday.
Ispra is home to facilities of the EU's Joint Research Centre, which has launched a research project on the security aspects of drones.
Italian defence-and-aerospace group Leonardo also has plants in the area.
