The Prime Minister will try to relaunch his faltering administration today as a poll finds voters are ‘disappointed’ with the Labour Government.

After just five months in office, Sir Keir Starmer will unveil a major reset designed to persuade voters that ministers are focused on their priorities.

He is expected to provide a series of measurable ‘milestones’ to make it easier for the public to judge progress on Labour’s five ‘missions’.

But he will set no targets for reducing immigration and no timetable for increasing defence spending.

Yesterday he also appeared to back away from Labour’s flagship manifesto pledge to deliver the fastest growing economy in the G7, after a forecast said the UK was likely to lag behind the United States and Canada.
